Hi guys,
Today I would like to share my review on the Shu Uemura the Lightbulb Fluid Foundation that I've tried recently.
I went to Shu Uemura to try their Lightbulb Foundation. This series have the Lighbulb Fluid Foundation which comes with a sponge, and the other which is the Lightbulb Essence Foundation. Both are more of the dewy, hydrating foundation.
The one I've tried has a better coverage, while the Essence foundation has lesser coverage, since it contains essential oil in the foundation which is more hydrating and more sheer.
Before I go into my review, I would like to share with you my skin type. I have combination skin, dry on the cheeks but oily on my T-zone area. Moreover, Singapore is really very hot and humid which is very hard to not sweat.
I bought the foundation and the foundation brush petal 55! I heard good reviews about the brush and hence thought to buy that and use it together with their foundation. 😛 For the foundation, the color I used is no. 574, I find it more of the yellowish undertone.
This foundation also have a scent to it when you apply on your face. For those who do not like scented foundation, you may need to consider this.
The below photo is how it looks after I've applied the foundation using the foundation brush.

I actually like the dewy finish on my face, the effect of the foundation is what I like. It has enough coverage to cover my dark circles and some scar on my face but yet very lightweight and does not feel sticky. It helps to minimise pores a bit too.
I also wear this makeup for the whole day to test if it is long lasting and the effect of this foundation after long hours.
However, after about 4-5 hours outside, even though I'm under aircon environment, my T-zone area and under nose area start to become oily and the foundation start to melt a little. The cheek area looks fine but the pores were not as concealed, pores start to enlarge a little and the face look a little too oily glowy.
In conclusion, I think this foundation suited more for people with dry skin as it is really moisturising, it does not make you feel tight on the skin. For people with oily skin, you may need to avoid this as this will be too moisturise for you.
For people with normal/combination skin, who like natural dewy look, non-cakey makeup, you will really like this foundation. Using this foundation, please take note to apply oil or sebum control primer on the oily area before applying this foundation. Besides, also apply a thin layer of oil control loose powder on those area to make it more long lasting.
Other than this, I really like the dewy finish that this foundation gives. It will be suitable to put on this makeup for party or occasions. 👍👍
Hope my review helps those who are interested in this foundation. I would still think it is best for you to go try it on to see how you really like about this product before buying it. 😉
